The Johnsonville Cricket Club wound up their season on Friday with a concert and dance, in aid of the funds, which passed off very successfully. The first part opened with a nigger chair entertainment, the characters being well sustained by Messrs H. London, J. Moore, A. Moore, F. Better, M. Atkinson (interlocutor), T. McFarlane and Master Moore. The trophies were presented by Mr F. Moore, in the unavoidable absence of Dr Newman and Mr T. M.Wilford, and were awarded as follow : —Dr Newman's, for batting average, first eleven, A. Pickin, senr.; Mr M. A. Atkinson's, for highest individual score, first eleven, A. Pickin, sen.; Mr T.. M. Wilford's, for second in batting average, first eleven, A. Pickin, jun.; Mr J. Chapman's, for bowling average, first eleven, F. Moore ; Mr W. Cook's, for highest individual score, second eleven, L. Better; Mr R. Styles', for bowling average, second eleven, A. Pickin, jun.; Mr Saunders' special, J. Corlett; Mr F. Moore's special, H. London ; Mr M. Atkinson's special, H. Bowler. The second part consisted of songs by the Misses Fogerty (encored), Harrup, Bond, and little Miss Ivy Better (encored), hornpipe by Mr McFarlane, the whole concluding with a laughable farce. Three cheers were given for Dr Newman, Mr T. M. Wilford, and the donors of the trophies. The dance, which followed, was kept up until early hours next morning. „ London, June 23.
