THE VALIDATION COURT.
Gisborne, Juno 12. At tho Validation Court to-day, in tho Paremata case, Judgo Barton made a proposal to counsol which it is stated will, if carried out, havo tho effect of settling the titles of over a million acres on the East Coast and causing tho properties now lying waste to bo utilised soon for tho benefit of all parties interested. The Globo Assets Company, through their counsel, at once accepted tho Judge's proposals, and it now only remains for counsel for the Natives and counsel for Mr Carroll and Wi Pere to como to terms with each other for the whole matter to reach a workable stage. If an amicable arrangement is mado then the wholo of these million acres will be under tho management of the Court, whose sanction will be needed for all sales and leases, and tho wholo estate will be disentangled and wound up in two or threo years, to the great gain of this district, and tho good of all its people.
