CYCLING.
Mr Harry N. Edmonds, the well-known Wellington cyclist and boxer, arrivod in Auckland on the morning of the Ist inst. Mr Edmonds is on a tour for the benefit of his health, and wo understand ho already feels much improved. The young cyclist had aUogethor a very unpleasant journoy, as the weather was generally extremely inclement, and the roads from Napier to Auckland were in a very bad condition, sometimes almost impassable Mr Edmonds had to walk for miles, and often to carry his machine, as the mud was sometimes two feet deep. From Rangiriri to Mercer, for instance (17 miles), he could not rido a yard. Mr Edmonds saw all the sights at Wairakei and Rotorua. Ho is the first cyclist to accomplish the journey from Wellington to Auckland. Mr Edmonds returns to Wellington next week by steamer. — Auckland Star.
