WELLINGTON A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting: of the General Committee of the Wellington Agricultural' and Pastoral Association was held last week, Mr W. Gr. Foster presiding. There was a large attendance.

Mr 11. Beauchamp sent in his resignation as a member of the Committee on account of pressure of business. The Chairman said the Association would suffer by Mr, Beauchainp's withdrawal. The resignation was accepted with regret. An account due to Mr J. Godber for providing luncheons for the recent Conference was passed, subject to an arrangement being made with Mr Godber as to one or two items.

The Chairman explained that the reason why the reporters were not invited to the Conference luncheon each day was on account of the limited accommodation. It was the desire of the Committee to please everybody, and they never intended to slight the reporters in any way. Messrs Scales and Mills expressed similar opinions.

Some time was spent in considering the revision of the rules of the Association, which, after some alterations, were finally agreed to. It was decided to have two vice-presidents in future, also that the regular meetings of the General Committee be held quarterly in lieu of monthly, but special meetings to be called if necessity arose. Mr Lingard's motion to increase the number of members of the General Committee from 24 to 36 being lost, the number remains as at present. Mr C. Pharazyn was elected as a member of the Committee in placw of Mr lioauchamp.
