DEPUTATIONS TO MR CADMAN.

Christchurch, June 7. The Hon. A. J. Cadman left for Wellington to-night. During the day ho was interviewed by several deputation 9. He promised the Waimakariri-Ashley Water Supply Board that a Government engineer would bo sent to report upon the various intakes proposed for water-races. A deputation from the Typ graphical Society waited upon the Minister relative to obtaining sessional work for some of the unemployed members of the Association. Tho Minister said that tho arrangements he contemplated making in order to cope with the diflicuity would, he expected, meet with the approval of persons interested. A suggestion was made that the Minister should communicate with tho secretaries of the various associations who were in the

best position to decide on the merits of each application. Tho Minister said he would, where possible, fall in with this arrangement, and asked that tho names should bo submitted to him, and on his return to Wellington he would enquire fully into the matter.
