Edwards and Mcßeath report on the labour market that there has been very little alteration during tho week. Thero was a good attendance at the property sale conducted on Wednesday by Messrs J. H. Bethune and Co. at their rooms, Featherston street. The freehold land in Broadway terraco, 66ft frontage by a depth of 80ft, and three houses, were sold for .£2OO to Mr Honry Mitchell, who also bought for .£l6O tho piece of freehold land of 43ft 6in frontage to Abel Smith street, by a depth of 264 ft, with two cottages. These properties were sold under conduct of tho llegistrar of the Supreme Court. The Petone properties wcro withdrawn at the reserve prices. The unsold lots are in the hands of tho auctioneers for private sale. Freeman B. Jackson and Co.'s Johnsonville stock report (telegraphed on Wednesday) is as follows : —The cattle at the sale to-day were of medium quality. No prime beef came forward. Sheep were of indifferent Rorts and not in good condition. Pigs brought full rates. Cattle—Bullocks, £7 to .£7 12s 6d, equal to 18s 6d.tho 1001 b. Sheep.—Medium wethers, 7s 6d to lis 7d ; ewes, 8s to 8s 6d ; inferior ewes, 6s 6d. Pigs.—Largo porkers, 26s to 28s ; others, 19s 6d to 22s ; small pigs, lis to lis 9d.
