COURSING.
(press association.) Dunedin, May 5. The coursing meeting was concluded today. The weather was disagreeable, mist prevailing all day. A disgraceful scene occurred after the final for the May Cup. The course was very close, and many thought Motley had won. One of the owners of Cardigan asked the judge which had led up, when the owner of Motley interjected 'Motley.' Of course Kett, the judge, gave him the lie direct, and Black retaliating, Kett got off his horee and shaped u? at Black. They were eventually separated. Final May Cup—Mr S. S. Myers' Lizzie Woodf, by The Brewer—Deception, beat Messrß Leslie and Black's Motl«y, and won the stake. Derby Stakes—Mr R. Blaokham'a Sweet' meat, by Red Pine-Whiff, and Mr R. Blaokhatn's Blackmount, by Red Pine—' Whiff, divided the stakes. Oaks Stakes—Mr S. S. Myers' Break o 1 D»y, by the Stormy Nig!)t, beat Mr A. F. Price's Sillwood, by Red Pine—Fawntrope, and won the stake. Consolation—Maori Boy beat Isa, and won the stake.
