'Sir Launcelot,' in discussing the Wanganui Queen's Birthday Meeting, selects Tulloch, Bsfc 91b, and Prioress, Bst 61b, in the Flying ; Shillelagh, list 71b (next to him Aorere, lOst lllb, Empire, lOst 101 b, and Auckland, lOst) in the Steeplechase ; Musket, Bst 71b, in the Winter Oats; and Waterbury, list 71b, in the Trial Steeplechase. Mr W. Napier, who has been caretaker of the Rutt racecourse during the last season, has severed his connection with the Racing Club, and Mr E. C. White, who was some years ago in charge of the Island Bay Course, has been appointed in his place. He will start on his new duties in a few days. The secretary of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club has received, says the Hawke's Bay Herald, a large diamond of the first water from Messrs Spink and Son, the celebrated diamond merchants, of London. It will be set in a bangle and form the Ladies' Bracelet at the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Winter Meeting next month.
