The Crown Lands are disposed of under three SystemsGASH; OCCUPATION WITH RIGHT OF PURCHASE, AND LEASE IN PERPETUITY. The greater part of the Crown Lands are covered with bush, which costs from 25s to 35s an acre to clear; after being burnt these lands carry fine crops of grass, keeping, on an average, 2 sheep to the acre. . The Government publishes every quarter a Crown Lands Guide, which contains full information as to lands open for selection or about to be thrown open, with prices, conditions, &c, copies of which will be sent gratuitously to anyone who applies to the Commissioners of Crown Lands at Auckland, Napier, New Plymouth, Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson, Hokitika, Christchurch, Dunedin, or Invercargill, and from whom also may be obtained any other information bearing on the lands of the Colony. THE HOT SPRINGS OF NEW ZEALAND. Baths are established at Waiwera, Te Aroha, and Kotorua in the North Island, and at Hanmer in the Middle Island Excellent accommodation for Visitors is Furnished. As health resorts all of these Springs are year after year attracting a larger stream of visitors, who derive very great benefit from the Thermal Waters, which have been found very efficacious in the following diseases .-—Chronic, Articular, and Muscular Rheumatism, Goat, Rheumatic Gout, Skin Diseases, Sciatica, Lumbago, Neuralgia, Nervous Exhaustion, Uterine Ailments, Disorders of the Digestive Organs, Ac.
