We understand that the following votes have been authorised : Upper Makuri and Towai roads, LIOOO. Waihua bridge, LSOO to be granted to Wairoa'County in aid, pound for pound. Otago Central Railway, L 5595, Waitotara Valley road, L6OO. Subsidy to Coromandel Countv, L3OO, for road from sea beach to mines at Kuaotuna. Holutika to Christchurch road, L 529. Porirua Asylum, plumbing and painting, L 665.
M jst of theße works will be carried out by the Public Works Department under the co-opera-tive principle.
