DESTRUCTIVE FIRES.
Melbourne, May 5. Moore's timber yard has been destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at £30,000. The premises are insured foir £3OOO, including £250 iu the New Zealand Office. Danevieke, May 5. The schoolmaster's residence was destroyed by fire at 4 o'clock this mornicg. The school buildings were saved with difficulty. The fire is supposed to have been the result of a defective ohimney. The insuranoe on the furniture and effects is £3OO in the London and Lancashire Offioe.
