FISHES AT PLAY.

Did you know they enjoy a good game pretty much as you do ? Two boys, Tom and Bob, were spending their summer holidays in S. Florida, and there they saw a large aquarium which was shown to them by an old man named John. There were delicate jelly fishes coming to the surface every now and then with a graceful sweep of their waving tentacles, several small green turtles, some good sized hawksbills or tortoise-shell turtles, gar-fish, &c. ‘ Keep still,' said the old man to the boys, ' and you'll see a game of leap-frog. And sure enough they did. The frogs were a turtle and the fish. The hawkesbill was floating with its back several inches out of the water, when suddenly a gar-fish leaped completely over him. Another tried, half turning in the air, three more followed suit, while still another, not quite so clever, failed in the act, and landed on the back of the turtle, starting him so that he dived out of sight. Fish are very much like boys, you see, up to any kinds of larks.
