THE UNEMPLOYED IN THE SOUTH.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Oamaru, July 13. A public meeting was held to-night of the unemployed to consider the question of obtaining work iu the district for the unemployed. About 200 were present, and it was decided unanimously to ask the Government to put the men on the Livingstone road, wh6r€i laud will shortly be thrown
open for settlement, and wbioh the road will open. It was a T so resolved to ask that the Land for Settlement Bill Bhould be pushed through the House, so that men might bo able to settle on small blocks of good laud.
