OUR ATHLETES AT lIOMP. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. THEIR PERFORMANCES AT BRADFORD. BATGER BEATS THE RECORD. (PRESS ASSOCIATION.) London, June 19. At the Huddersfield Athletic Sports yesterday, where the New Zealanders made their second appearance in England, the weather was showery and boisterous. Hempton and D. Wood were absent. The latter has sprained his leg, and will probably be unable to run again in England. In the 120yds Hurdle Handicap, Cuff was second, and Batger third. In the Quarter-mile Flat Handicap, P. Wood came in third. The Quarter-mile Hurdle Handicap, despite the state of the ground, produced a magnificent race. Batger was defeated by six inches, but his time, 59 4-ssec, beats the record.
