HOTEL ROBBERIES AT FEATHERSTON.
(BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Feathhrston, June 15.
Hotel thieves have been visiting the Waiisrapa and-several losses have been reported. At one of the hotels here several of the guests complained to the landlord that their money was missing. One inspector of a bank was relieved of 12s, a shepherd of three L 5 notes, and a well-known • commercial traveller reported the loss of about L 4. The thieves entered the bedrooms whilst the occupants were asleep, so it is a warning to all travellers to lock their doors.
The Featherston constable recognised two meD leaving by the morning train whom he knew as bad characters. It is to be regretted he did not arrest them on suspicion.
