SHOT.

(PRESS association.) Sydney, June 17-

Lord Ancrum (eldest son of the Marquis of Lothian), Aide-de-camp to the Earl of Jersey, while out on a shooting expedition at Bombala, in the Monaro district, in company with Captain Leigh, was accidently shot dead. The horse which Lord Ancrum was riding became restive, causing bis gun to explode. The full charge entered the rider’s body, and death was instantaneous. Sydney, June 19. The remains of Lord Ancrum, A.D.C. to Earl Jersey, will be interred here. London, June 18. In the House of Commons, the Hon A. J. Balfour announced, on behalf of the Government, that it was impossible that a dissolution could take place before the 29th or 30th insfc. ‘ The accident which led to the death of Lord Ancrum has caused a painful sensation in social circles. The news of his death was conveyed to his father (Marquis of Lothian) by the Duke of Buccleuch. During the day many friends cabled expressing condolence. (special. ) London, June 17.
