FASHIONABLE WEDDING.

St. Mark’s Church, Karori, was crowded with spectators on Wednesday, when Lewin Mackworth Taverner, eldest son of MajorGeneral Taverner, was married to Gertrude Amy Graham, third daughter of Mr C. O. Graham, R.M. and Official Assignee for Wellington. The larger portion of the congregation, as is usual on these interesting occasions, was composed of ladies. The ceremony was performed by the Rev A. Dasent, the hride being given away by her father, and Mr Lowry, of Hawkes Bay, noting as best man. The bride, who was attended by three bridesmaids —Misses Susie and Cara Graham and Miss Knight—wore a dress of ivory satin with train and real lace trimmings, hand embroidered bridal veil, and wreath of orange blossoms. On the wedding party entering the church the otganist played Mendelsoohn’s bridal march, and on their leaving, another wedding march. The wedding breakfast was served at Woodburn, the residence of tho bride’s parents, where the wedding presents, which were numerous and of a very costly character, were tastefully displayed. The happy pair left in the afternoon for their honeymoon, their departure being honoured with a shower of rice. The bride’s travelling dress was of brown cloth, braided, with hat and feathers to match.
