(per press association.) Auckland, April 10. Mr Duncan, Secretary of the Central Liberal Committee at the last elections, was sued to-day at the Resident Magistrate’s Court by Mr Brett, proprietor of the Star, for £!5 for advertising,&c. Duncan confessed to tho amount, but made the statement that the expense had beea incurred on behalf of Messrs Rees, Shera. and Napier. Rees had paid £6O, Shera £22 15s, and Napier £2l. Mr Roes alao offered to pay a share of the outstanding liabilities, £6O, but th 9 others would not come to any arrangement regarding the matter. The defendant confessed personal liability, and judgment was given for plaintiff with costs.
