(FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION". ) \ OAMAHtr, March 22. Several deputations waited oa the Hen J. McKenzie ou Saturday. One had reference to the dismissal of Inspector Thomson, and a®ked that the Ministry should reconsider the matter. The Minister said he would cause the views of the deputation to be conveyed to the Minister for Defence. A deputation al«o waited on the Minister asking that the Government should introduce a Bill having for its object the increase of members of county councils, so that when found advisable the council could take up the work of road boards, and thus do away with a double rating body. The proposal had the Minister’s sympathy, and he said he would consider the advisability of giving it effect.
