The tender of Mr T. Ballinger, at £SO 16s, for the erection of new pens for the Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association has been accepted. The Directors of the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company decided at a meeting on Saturday morning to recommend to the annual meeting of shareholders, to be held next week, that a dividend of 3| per cent, be declared, which will absorb £6OOO of the year’s profits. There is a credit balance of £13,000, which includes £SOOO carried forward from last year, and after the payment of the dividend there will be a Bum of £7OOO remaining, which it is proposed to carry forward*
