Secretary Woodward, of New York, has been trying Horned Dorset rams for over four years, and finds them the liveliest and most prepotent of lamb-getters. As an experiment he let loose in a flock of ewes a Shrop. shire, a Hampshire, and a Dorset. The resuit was that more than half of the lambs were Dorset orosses, and this half had twice as many twins as the other half. They grew more rapidly than tha others, and were ready for market ten days earlier, bringing the better prices. Amended regulations made by the Go. vernor of New South Wales re the introduction of stock into that colony, appear in last week’s Gazette.
