Dr Koch’s Remedy.

For months past the newspapers have been giving exhaustive accounts of the reported remedy of Dr Koch for the oure of consump* tion. Most of us have made ourselves fairly familiar with the process which the clever doctor proposes to rid the world of that great scourge, consumption, but hitherto few accounts have reached the public of how a patient feel 3 under the operation of the lymph. From an authentic source lam able to supply the following account of a patient’s experience. A middle-aged man who for some years had been suffering from consumption, determined to try the effects of Dr Koch’s treatment. He says:—‘Not the least interesting ps.rfc of my experience has been the taking of the injeations. Apprehensions not unlike those of oue on the way to tho dentist’s were mingled with the hope of recovery that I felt before receiving the first dose of the lymph. But I had no reason to' feat ; the operation was nothing to speak of. A slight pricking sensation, a feeling of fullness beneath the skin at the site of the puncture and I was put to bed to await the action of the remedy. A drowsiuess came over me, but I did not sleep, and a hot flueh spread over me. I seemed for the time to be removed from surrounding objeots and to live apart from the people about me. Still I was conscious of my whereabouts. The feeling was similar to the delirium of fever, and the attendants said my temperature was elevated. After these sensations had lasted for a time I became slightly chilly and fell asleep. When I awoke I was in a natural state of mind. The same experience followed the second injection, but after the third dose of the remedy my temperature, to the surprise of my medical attendant, fell from 9S*6 to 96-6 instead of rising, as is said to be usual. I feel better in every respect, but cannot say what the permanent result will be. Dora.
