The R.M.S. Coptic, from London, via Hobart, should arrive here on Sunday after* noon. The Hon Mr Seddon, accompanied by his private secretary, left by the Penguin on Wednesday night for Nelson. The widow of the late torpedo-man Heigh* ton, better known as Ross, interviewed the Hon MrSeddon, Minister of Defence,onWed* nesday, and asked whether there would be any objection to Mr Jellicoe attending on her behalf at the enquiry in connection with the late explosion. The Minister informed Mrs Heighton that there would be no objection to Mr Jellicoe attending. Mrs Heighton also asked to be allowed to exhume the body ot her child, who died three years pgo, and bnry it alongside that of her late husband. The Hon Mr Seddon promised to do what he could to carry oat her request.
