We learn from our Palmerston correspondent that the burial of the late Mr J. S. Jolly, who died on Friday last, took place on Sunday. The remains were interred at Terrace End Cemetery with-,every possible mark of regard, Druids, Foresters, and Orangemen, with the members of both Lodges of Freemasons, and visiting brethren from the surrounding district marched in advance of the hearse, beside which walked the deacons of the Manawatu Kil* winning Lodge and the pall-bearers, the mourning coach, with immediate relatives, followed by upwards of 30 private convey ances, and some 40 or 50 horsemen, besides an immense gathering of townspeople, making up one of the largest funeral corteges ever seen in Palmerston. Mr Jolly leaves a widow and four children, viz., one son ana three daughters, the eldest of whom i* married to Mr W, T. Wood, of this town, and the seoond to Mr Henry CaviHi or Kamwa.
