METEOROLOGICAL REPORT.
According to the the official meteorological report for Ootober, 1890. the mean temperatare of the aif in Wellington was above the average, the figures being 56-0, 1 average 53'6. The highest temperature in the shade in Wellington was 67*3 on the 14tb, and the lowest 42-0 on the 17th. The highest temperatures in the shade were—76 in Christchurch on the Bth, 75*0 in Auckland on the 11th, and 73‘0 in Dunedin on the 31st. The rainfall for Wellington was slightly below 4’67oin, average 4*830. The returns of the other boroughs are—Auokland, 10*210in; Christohuroh, l*44oin ; Dunedin, 2'7lQin. Rain fell upon 14 days in Welling, ton, 20 in Auokland, 21 in Dunedin, and 9 in Christchurch.
