THE BROKEN CABLES.

COMMUNICATION RESTORED. The telegraph authorities placed the following information at our disposal on Sunday night:—“ Darwin advises as follows—On the morning of the 11th instant all three cables suddenly failed, apparently about the same place, in Bally Strait. About one hour after a sovere shock of earthquake had passed over the southern end of Java. Yesterday(the 19th),at daylight, the s.s. Sherard Osborne recovered and buoyed the Baujoewangie end about 30 miles from Baujoewangie. At noon on Sunday the steamer made a final splice of the duplicate cable and work started to come through.
