The scale of charges for using the bureau telephone stations are published in this week’s gazette. The official appointment of M. F. j/de Lostalot do Bachoue as French Vice-Consul at Wellington is notified. Dr J. Henry has been appointed certify, ing officer for the vaccination districts of Wellington, Featheiston, Greytown, Masterton, Castle Foint, Carterton and Otaki, vice Dr A. Johnston, resigned. A despatch from Lord Knutford is pubfished, giving the text of the Extradition Treaty with the United States. Mr N. Reid, of Wellington, in accordance with the Justices of the Peace Act, ceases to be a Justice of the Peace from the 26th June. A notice is issued to mariners concerning the extension of the wool jetty and the erection of timber staging at Jervois quay. The following local patents have been applied for during the week H. G. BedelJ, of Windsor place, Wellington, for Bedell’s improved automatic gas governor and purifier for gas-burners, gas-stoves and gas fires of any capacity ; J. B. Poynter, of Wellington, for apparatus for facilitating the calculation of per centage and some other purposes.
A Native Land Court wili be held in Wellington on the 28th instant to deal with land in Polhill’s Gully.
