On th motion oi Mr Young, seconded by Mr F riser, the following rosohi'ion was ordered to be in sert"d on the records nf tffe : The Board is deeply sen-ibo* of the io>s v hieh the service has sustaiued by the death of Mr Badland, for many years master of 'he Waihenga school. He was one of the fm-t teachers appointed by the Board, and one of the very best appointments ever made. He bad always been a cheerful, conscientious, and thoroughly efficient teacher, and he leaves behind him an unbroken record of successful work. Had hiß health permitted he would long ago have held a more important post,
