THE ZAMBESI QUESTION.
Apparently the difficulty between England and Portugal, with respect to the Zambesi, has been settled
peacefully, and decidedly to the advantage of England, for the cable informs ns that the Governor of Mozambique has been instructed to immediately execute Lord Salisbury’s wishes, and remove the troops and officials to whom the British Premier objects. Lord Salisbury’s firmness has unquestionably had a great effect upon the Portuguese authorities, who have, by this latest step, practically yielded in every respeob to his demands.
