A train was wrecked at Sydney (Nebraska) to-day, and the Australian mails on board were burne,d. The whole of the Australian mails were destroyed by fir© on the train at Nebraska. Port-au-Prince, January 12. The Haytians have insulted the British, Consul in this town. New York, January 13. By a fire at a racing stable ia Versailles, Kentucky, tha celebrated trotting stallion Bellboy was destroyed. Thirty-four other horses, valued at 100,000 dollars, were burned. Chicago, January 14. A cyclone in Illinois and the adjoining States has caused immense destruction of property. In St. Louis and other cities several persona were killed and many injured. SPECIAL. Rio de J aneiro, January 9. The State Church in Brazil has been abolished.
