She sailed South next day. ARRIVAL OF THE SHIP TURAKINA, FROM LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping - Company’s well known clipper ship Turakina, Captain Power, arrived in harbour at a pm on Sunday from London after a smart passage of 92 days. She left London ou the 2ud October, and was 15 days getting clear of the Channel, during which time some very dirty weather was met with. From passing the Lizards on the 14th of the same month till crossing the Equator on the 7 th November in 28 west experienced light south-easterly trades. Picked up the westerly trades in lat. 42 south, long. 33’50 east. Experienced moderate and fresh westerly winds till the Tasmanian coast was passed on the 24th December. Met with moderate N,W. winds till passing Cape Farewell at 7 am on Saturday ; from thence till arrival off the heads at 7_ pm same day experienced Btrong N.W. winds. She kept off the heads during the night, took the pilot on Sunday morning, and arrived aB above. Mr E. J. Hampton is still connected with the Turakina as refrigerating engineer.
