BOWLING.

The attendance on the Wellington Club’s green on Saturday was somewhat less than usual. One half of the old green has been temporarily closed to allow some bare spots a chance of growing better, but the new green now being in playing order, there is no inconvenience. Players accustomed to the smooth even surface of the old green hardly care for the more stiff and h&rd grained surface of the new ground. With time and plenty of rolling we believe the new green will become quite equal to, if not better, than the old one, it will certainly stand more work. The following are the games played : Rink No. 1. —Messrs Sheriff, Haselden, Wilson, and Campbell (skip) against Messrs Harris, Hutchen, McDougall, and Crombie (skip), was won by Mr Cromhie by 21 to 10. Rink No. 2.- -Messrs Reid, Cooper, Maskell, and Barren (skip) played Messrs Lookie, S. Brown. Grady, and Lambert (skip), Mr Lambert winning two games by 21 to 11 and 21 to 16. Rink No. 3.—Messrs Frankland, Lindsay, Eliott, and MeKerrow (skip) played Messrs Skelly, Leslie, Scoullar and Oliphant (skip), Mr McKerrow’s team winning by 21 to 13. Rink No. 4.—Messrs Paterson, Blundell, Gray, and Flyger (skip) played Messrs Whitehouse, Finlay, Gale, and Ballinger /skip), Mr Ballinger winning by 18 to 13. Rink No. 5. Messrs Paterson, Culpan, and Riley played Messrs Young, Didsbury, and Barrand, Mr Barrand winning by 21 to 13. Rink No. 6—Messrs Harcourt, Haselden, Harris, apd Penty (skip) played
