Telephone Extension. A telephone station is now open at Akiteo, Wellington district. The hours of attendance are 9am to 5 pm. It is closed on Sundays and holi. days, all telegrams will be delivered regularly. Sea Trout. —A number of large salmon, or more probably sea trout, are reported as having lately been seen in the harbour, and Borne were caught in Evans Bay in the nets. Any fisherman netting one of these fish in the open harbour will be doing good service by bringing it tc the Museum, as it would be most interesting to try to identify its variety. The sea trout and salmon liberated in the Hutt Fiver some yearß aero should be showing up in the harbour this year. If netting at the mouth of the river can be prevented they should soon increaso if these seas suit them.
