I P EKE NIX CRICKET CLUB. The eleventh annual meeting of the Phoenix Cricket Club was held at the Post Office Hotel on Tuesday night. There was a good attendance, and Mr J. H. Cock presided. The secretary’s annual repoit.was read and adopted. It stated that the Committee regretted that the past season was not ; marked with the success characteristic of previous years. Moorllouse ; Practice Captains and Coaches — Messrs Moorhouse and Alpe ; Secretary— J. Varnham (re-elected) ; Treasurer— L. G. ' St. George (re-elected) ; General Committee Messrs Webb, Taylor, Alpe, Morice, and Motley ; Match Committee—Messrs Moorhouse, Alpe, and Webb ; Auditor—Mr D. S. Gray ; Delegates to the Association —Messrs Morice, Varnham, and Webb. Mr Varnham was appointed as a special delegate to the Association. A hearty vote of thanks was awarded to the secretary and treasurer for their services during the past season. The following new members were elected: —Messrs V'. Ogier, Hemery, .Knell, Mabin, S. Roberts, A. S. Green. It was decided to hold a smoke concert during the present month, and a committee, consisting of Messrs Morice, Smith, Allen, Waters, Alpe, Webb, Biss, and Taylor, were appointed to make the necessary arrangements. The Chairman announced that he would present a handsome trophy to the best allroundcricketer in the Club.
