LABOUR UNION.
(per press ASSOCIATION.) Greymouth, July 16. A public meeting was held this evening, called by Mr Lomas, president of the Denniston Union, for the purpose of establishing a labour union here. H 6 and Mr Newton, another miner, addressed the meeting on the advantages of organisation by means of a union. Both were well received. It was resolved to form a Labour Union, and a provisional committee of seven was appointed to make the preliminary arrangements and draw out rales, &e. The Mayor occupied the chair., The meeting was largely attended. The conveners will go all over the Coast.
