THE BIBLE ON THE WATERBURY.
Very few people, apparently, are aware that the Waterbury is distinctly mentioned in the Bible, and that too, in a very early book of the Old Testament. If you will ask your clergyman he’ll probably say it is not there 5 that this watch, although undeniably a good one, and quite trustworthy, cannot boast of such ancient origin, and so on, ad lib. But he is wrong all the same. The first reference we can find, dated back to the time of Moses, who is credited with standing on the banks of the Bed Sea, latitude and longitude not logged; and watching ‘ The Water bury Pharaoh and all his hosts.’ Theological students whose meditations are so superficial that they have missed this important fact hitherto, can make up for lost time by securing a Waterbury and living up to it.
