The U.S.S. Co.’s ss Rotorua left Melbourne at 2.20 pm, and cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6.30 pm on the 24th jilt, .passed Farewell Spit at 6 pm on the 29th, and arrived at Nelson at 10 pm the same evening ; sailed thence at 4 pm on the 31st, called at Picton, and arrived at 5.40 yesterday morning. She experienced light variable winds, with fine weather throughout the trip. She Bailed yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton. THE R.M.S. TONGARIRO. The R.M.S. Tongariro sailed from the Que6n’fl Wharf for London, via way ports,
with considerable punctuality at her appointed time yesterday afternoon, her lines being cast off promptly at 2 pm. She took 24,677 carcases frozen mutton, 1251 pieces meat, 540 kegs butter, and 4 boxes containing 20,000 sovereigns. The vessel is in first-rate trim, and is expected to make a good passage.
