The Pug’s Luxurious Outfit.

A girl who never owned any pugs, but who had a great liking for them, offered to take chat go of one belonging to a friend who was about to go on a journey where she could not take her pet. There was a rattan basket for him to sleep in, a bath-tub, sponge and towols with liis name embroidered on them, and a cake of puro Castile soap on a silver dish j an ivory comb and brush, beautifully hand painted 5 a decorated plate for hiß food, and a bowl for milk or water ; several pounds of dog bisouit in a beautiful fancy box and a bonbon basket filled with confections to be given one after each meal for dessert; a case of homo, pathic medicines for use should he be taken ill; a blanket for bis basket, arid another finely embroidered one to cover him with and there were two seta of these, that they might be washed and renewed each week j then there was a blanket coat for him to run ont of doors with, and a thinner one for the mildest davs a blanket to wrap him in after his bath, and one as an extra cover on cold nights ; a little harness to put on when he should go out to walk, and chains of gold and silver ; three or four collars and a dozen or so different coloured bows for his nock - a silver whistle to call him if he should stray j a ball for him to pay with, and an embroidered hair pillow for him to ourl up on in the daytime. 4 1 have not sent his exercise box or hi« tooth brush,’ the friend wrote at the end of a long letter of instructions ; 4 please buy him a soft one add use it every morning.
