On tho arrival of the-R.M.S. Alameda on Sunday might,: Mr F. Leslie, Miss Nellie Farren, and several of the other leading members of the London Gaiety Company came ashore and proceeded to the Imperial Hotel. Yesterday they were driven out to Mount Eden, Mr M. Gallagher, landlord of the hotel, acting" as" their cicerone, and they greatly admired -the view from that celebrated mountain. Mr Leslie expressed himself delighted with Auckland, and hoped that at no distant date the Gaiety Company wouldhave an opportunity of appearing in this city. It will no doubt be of interest to dairy farmers to know that the company were unanimous in declaring that never since leaving England had they tasted such delicious butter as that which they used at the Imperial Hotel, and which of course was locally made. ■.. > ■
