THE BLENHEIM FIRE.

A fire which broke out last night in Earll and McKenzie’s sash and door factory spread to the stables and Earll's dwellinghouse, all of which were- completely consumed. The large building (occupied by Earp and Co., merchants, on the opposite side of the road, was gutted. The railway goods shed, which was in considerable danger, escaped uninjured. The origin of the fire is a mystery. The insurances are—Earll and Mackenzie’s stables, £2OO in the Liverpool and London, £3OO in the timber sheds and racks (mostly saved) £6OO in the Royal; Mr Earll’s residence, £SOO in the Royal; the furniture, £l5O in the Phoanix ; Earp’s Building £IOOO in the Liverpool office, stock £4OO in the same. Craig’s shop (estimated damage £SO) was insured in the Standard. Earll and Mackenzie estimate their loss at £SOOO. They had no insurance on the machinery.
