The following is the latest betting on the Caulfield Cup : —IOO to 8 Plutarch, Charmer, and Chicago, 100 to 4 Pakeha, 100 to 3 Newmaster (1000 to 30 taken), 100 to 1 Oakleigh (1000 to 10 taken). Worcester has been scratched.
Some good work was done on the training ground this morning. Mentor ran over Enfilade in the course of a mile and a half spin, doing the distance in 2min 53sec. Rudolph had the best of Sinecure and Pippo, who were put over five furlongs together, the former’s time being lmin 6Jsec, Britomarte and Prince Consort did a fast half mile.
