WANGANUI.
[By Telegraph.]
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Wanganui, August 17.
An inquest was held to-day into the fire that occurred in an empty bouse iu the suburbs last Sunday week. The jury returned a verdict of no evidence to show how the fire originated. At a meeting of the English Church choir to-night a protest by certain members against intonation at the evening service was considered, and the choir unanimously resolved to resign in a body. It is said the protest against the intonation only comes from a few individuals, .but there is every prospect of lively times over the matter. ■
