Lloyd’s Yacht Register (White Lion Court, Cornhill). —This truly wonderful register of yachts is a little later this year in making its appearance, aud we believe the cause was the increased work owing to the large ’addition made to thct yacht fleet.;. Last year the total number of yachts (as recorded in fcho Register) owned in the United Kingdom was 2$G7» wjth an aggr.egg.te tonnage of 330,912 tons ; ana the grand total of yachts owned in &U countries, 4,078, with a gross tonnage of 177,260. This year the totals are 4344 yacht 3, with an aggregate tonnage of 157.098.... In these figures and in the tables which follow, 10S0 yachts belonging to America' (of which particulars are not forthcoming) are not included. The return for America is twenty.seven yachts, which

The naval Annual, by Lord Brassey, K. C. B. (Griffin and Co. Portsmouth).— This handsome volume has been compiled by Lord Brassey from various sources, assisted by some well known professional gentlemen. It gives particulars and engravings of all the important war ship 3 of the world, and a variety of general information of a most useful description. The chapters on merchant ships and steam propulsion are both interesting and instructive.
