MINING REPRESENTATION AT THE MELBOURNE EXHIBITION.
AN OFFICIAL DENIAL, The Government have received! the following cable message from Sir Ja'jiaes Hector (at Melbourne) in reply to inquiries as to the truth of the reflections upon the representation at the Melbourne. Exhibition of New Zealand mining products ; —“Report emanated from speculator here. Minerals not yet fully displayed. Will have complete representation. General opinion very favourable. Letter posted.” This, it will bo seen, is a virtual denial of the statements made by the New Zealand Herald’s correspondent published iu another column.
