Christchurch, August S. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report (per Mr E. G. Stavelev) as follows : —At Addington yards there were moderate entries. Theire were about 4010 sheep. Fat sheep were rather easier ; prime crossbred wethers, 15s to 17s ; exceptional, 19s 6d ; mixed sexes, 13s 6d to 103 ; ewes and lighter weights, 11s 6dto 13s; prime merinos, 12s 6d to 14s 3d ; ordinary, 9s ; mutton, 2£d to 3d per lb. There was a brisk demand for store sheep. Cattle market—fat cattle maintained their value ; heavy bullocks, L 7 to LS ; medium, L 6 ; cows and heifers, L 4 to L 7 10s ; beef, 15s to 19s per 1001 b. Pigs sold well ; baconors, 36s to 50s ; porlr, ISs to 30s, equal to 3id per lb. , _ Dunedin, August 8. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report (per Mr D. Pigs—92 were penned ; suckers, 7s 9d to 13s ; stores, 14s to 23s ; porkers, 2Ss to 335: 6d; baconers, 35s to 455; extra heavy, to 85s.
