The weather to-'day was showery for the Winter Steeplechase meeting. The attendance was good. Maiden Steeplechase, of two miles.— Sir Fyans, list 21b, I ; Lindin, list 21b, 2 ; Beldemonia, lOst 21b, 3. Flat Race, of one- mile and a quarter.— Recall, Sst 41b, and Menotti, Gst 12lb, dead heat; Dividend, Sst 21b, 3. Grand National Hurdle Race, of 1000 sovs ; about three miles.—Malua, list 71b, 1 ; The Yoeman, 12st 11b, 2 ; Victim, lOst 9d, 3. Grand National Steeplechase, of 20 sovs each, with 1000 added ; about three miles.—Ruby, 12st 71b, 1; Royal Oak, 12st, 2 ; Mernder, 12sC 21b, 3. Melbourne, August 4.
In the Grand National Hurdles, there were thirteen starters. It was a capital race, and was won by half a length. Time, smin Sjrsec. Fourteen started in the National Steeplechase, which was won by half a length, after a fine race. Time, Gmin 53sec.
