The pro-Cathedral of St. Paul’s has been fitted with the albo-carbon light. A trial was made last Friday which proved very successful. There are 72 of these new burners replacing 113 of the ordinary gas jets formerly used, the lighting power being raised from 990 to 2015 candles. There are 13 cluster lights ranging from 4 to 12 ligh (s each. Messrs Adams and Woolcott were instructed to carry out the alterations under the superintendence of the New Zealand agent for tho albo-carbon light, Mr G. G. Moore, and the above firm have completed their, work in the most satisfactory manner. The new light was used at the evening-service last Sunnday.
