Superstition in Kentuaky.

Two years ago the wife of Calvin Stowars, when dying, placed a small iron 'ring on the third finger of his left hand and extorted an oath that he would never marry again. She said that if he broke his word she would haunt him and ruin hi 3 life. Recently he was married to Emma Brickel, to whom he was engaged before bis first marriage. The bride took the ring from his finger, saying that it was superstitions to regard a wish so selfish. Within two hours the bride, groom’s left side was paralyzed, beginning in the finger that had worn the ring. The ring could not be restored to the place, being much too small, whereas it had before been amply large. The bridegroom is terrorstriken and has apparently lost interest in his new wife.
