The craft is barrel shaped, and at first Mr Graham intended to keep ontside the barrel, but was ultimately dissuaded from his purpose. The Court Journal (London) states that a German chemist has invented a new kind of anesthetic bullet which he urges will, if brought into general use, greatly diminish the horrors of war. The bullet is of a brittle substance, breaking directly when it comes in contact with the object at which it is aimed. It contains a powerful anesthetic, producing instantaneous and complete insensibility, lasting for at least twelve hours, which, except that the action of the hears continues, is not to be distinguished from death.
