The Land Acquisition Bill underwent a final revision on Wednesday, and we are indebted to the Minister of Lands for a copy of the revised Bill. The provision that Settlement Associations are to lodge with the Receiver of Land Revenue a deposit equal to one-fourth the value of the land sought to be expropriated (on the basis of the last Property Tax valuation), with 10 per cent, added, has been amended by the omission of the words “with 10 per cent, added,” thus leaving the Property tax valuation as the sum to be paid.
